Waiver Claims (Updated)

Hirsch's Hitmen have made a waiver wire claim on Mark Bradley (WR, Kansas City Chiefs). To make room for Bradley Hirsch's Hitmen have released Lance Moore (WR, New Orleans Saints). Hirsch's Hitmen do not need to wait until the waiver process ends on Wednesday night because they have first waiver priority due to the fact that they have the worst record in the RMFFL. UPDATE: Hirsch's Hitmen have also picked up Cadillac Williams (RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers), BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB, New England Patriots) & Tyler Thigpen (QB, Kansas City Chiefs). To make the necessary room Hirsch's Hitmen have released Daunte Culpepper (QB, Detroit Lions), Earnest Graham (RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) & Derrick Mason (WR, Baltimore Ravens). It seems as if these moves were made to make Hirsch's Hitmen younger. Hirsch's Hitmen Owner & General Manager Richard Hirschmann had this to say about the moves: "Culpepper should have stayed retired, Graham screws me by volunteering to be the FB & Derrick Mason is just too old to be on my team."

The Impact Players have made a waiver wire claim on Ricky Williams (RB, Miami Dolphins). The Impact Players have yet to designate who they will be releasing to make room for Williams since they do not have priority. They will likely be signing Williams as only Hirsch's Hitmen can make a waiver claim that would take Williams from the Impact Players. UPDATE: The Impact Players have released Deuce McAllister (RB, New Orleans Saints) to make room for Williams.

Warner Gets His Wish, Traded to a Contender

H
irsch's Hitmen have granted Kurt Warner's wish and have traded him to a contender. Warner was dealt just minutes ago to the Green Bastards. As you may know both Kurt Warner (QB, Arizona Cardinals) and Brett Favre (QB, New York Jets) had asked to be traded to a contender prior to Saturday's trade deadline. Hirsch's Hitmen have been bale to grant Warner's wish; how soon will Favre be in a new new uniform? In exchange for Warner the Green Bastards sent back Leon Washington (RB, New York Jets). Also exchanged were conditional draft picks. Which round the picks will be swapped will be decided at the conclusion of the season when draft order has been established.
Warner, who has arguably been the MVP of the RMFFL so far this season, will be joining the Green Bastards for this Sunday's key match-up against the Brit Favreits. Washington, on the other hand, will not be in Hirsch's Hitmen garb until next week since his game has already been played.

Thursday Night Starters

So as I said I'd do I am going to post every teams starters, starting tonight. I'll update throughout the day until kickoff (approx. 8:15 pm EST).

Declared Starters:
Green Bastards: K, Stephen Gostkowski
Hirsch's Hitmen: WR. Laveranues Coles
Impact Players: WR, Randy Moss
Kelly's Heroes: RB, Thomas Jones
Hawaiian Punch: WR, Jerricho Cotchery

Punch Signs Recently Released Moore

Hawaiian Punch have decided to use their free roster space to sign Lance Moore (WR, New Orleans Saints). Moore was released earlier in the week by Hirsch's Hitmen in a roster purge of Stalin-esque proportions. Hawaiian Punch are trying desperately to get themselves out of a funk that has seen them drop 4 straight after starting the season 6-0-0. Hawaiian Punch plays Team Gonzo in Week 11.

Addai, Lee Return Home

The first trade has come and it is eerily similar to a trade that went down last weekend. Team Gonzo have re-acquired Joseph Addai (RB, Indianapolis Colts) from the Brit Favreits. The Brit Favreits have re-acquired Donald Lee (TE, Green Bay Packers). So the first shot has been fired prior to the RMFFL Trade Deadline; how many more are going to come?

A New Era Dawns

Welcome all to the new online home of the RMFFL. Before I get started I would like to thank Richard for all the hard work he has done, not only in moderating our previous website (which if he wants he can still continue to do) but in helping put together this site. The helmets at the top of the screen were created by him and without his help I could not have launched so soon.

Now many of you may be wondering what I will be using this space for. Well, no longer will I be e-mailing everyone any time something happens. Instead I will come on here and post an entry with the details. The blog will allow me to make the RMFFL more team-friendly; for instance:
  • I will now be posting waiver-wire claims as I get them. No more e-mails from me saying that you cannot acquire a player. Just log on here and see if he has been claimed yet; if not, send that e-mail in.
  • I will also be posting everyone's weekly starting lineup on here. I will wait until kickoff to post the lineups, but just after 1 pm on Sunday you can log on and see who your opponent is starting. I will make a special post for players that are active on Thursday or Saturday night.
  • I also plan on updating scores as the week goes on. You can expect score updates on Thursday night or Saturday night if the situation warrants it, as well as score updates after the conclusions of the 1 pm, 4 pm & Sunday-night games. I hope that this will be a popular feature that everyone enjoys.
The items that I used to e-mail to everyone, such as the fan-favourite Weekly Wrap, will now be posted on here. No worries though, the excellence that you have come to expect from the Weekly Wrap will continue. In fact, I hope that the features on here will allow me to increase your overall enjoyment of the Weekly Wrap. On the sidebar you will notice some Weekly Wrap features (RMFFL Standings, Player of the Week, etc.). They will stay there throughout the week, but those features will still be present in the new online version of the Weekly Wrap.

Some things that will not be posted on here are rosters. With the fluidity of roster changes I would be bogged down with roster updates, so I plan on just continuing the process of e-mailing all of you an individual roster file. Only the changes made to the rosters will be written in the e-mail. For commentary on them (that I plan on giving, both positive & negative) you will have to log on here.

I hope everyone enjoys what I plan to offer on the site. I hope my plan for a more team-friendly experience is met. This truly is the dawning of a new day in the RMFFL.
