A New Hero

In a stunning move Hirsch's Hitmen & Kelly's Heroes came to an agreement today on a trade that shakes up the upcoming 2009 RMFFL Draft.

Kelly's Heroes have acquired Frank Gore (RB, San Francisco 49ers) and the Hirsch's Hitmen's 9th Round Draft Pick. In exchange Hirsch's Hitmen are now the proud possessors of the #1 Overall Pick in the 2009 RMFFL Draft. Yes, you read that correctly. Kelly's Heroes have dealt their most prized possession.

I will freely admit to being stunned that this deal was made. On the same day that saw Hirsch's Hitmen acquire Marion Barber also sees them jettison their best player from 2008; the one player I thought was untouchable on their roster.

Kelly's Heroes rejected plenty of overtures for the 1st Overall Pick in the 2009 RMFFL Draft, but acquiesced when Gore was put on-the-block.

Two trades in one day. I wonder what the next few weeks will bring.

Barber Finds a New Home

After weeks of attempting to deal Marion Barber, Hawaiian Punch finally found a partner: Hirsch's Hitmen. The deal breaks down like this:

To Hawaiian Punch:
Hirsch's Hitmen's 2009 1st Round Draft Pick (4th Overall)

To Hirsch's Hitmen:
Hawaiian Punch's 2009 1st Round Draft Pick (6th Overall)
Marion Barber (RB, Dallas Cowboys)

Hirsch's Hitmen
have been very active this off-season in the hopes of bolstering their roster. They have been building what looks on paper to be a solid team. Only time will tell if these moves pan out.

Hawaiian Punch has done what all great teams should do: deal from strength. With a plethora of RBs on their roster they have parlayed one of them, albeit a good one, that they deemed expendable and have moved up two slots in the 1st round of the 2009 RMFFL Draft.

One wonders if this trade will spur activity in other teams. Many trades have been discussed recently but this is the only one that has come to fruition.

Defending Champs Alter Logo, Colours

After 4 seasons the Green Bastards have decided to change their colours and helmet logo for the 2009 RMFFL Season. Gone is the old white flag/garbage bag logo and in its place is a new, Packers-/Niners-inspired logo. The face cage is now a much more eye-catching gold as opposed to the old dark gray that was seen in years past. The Green Bastards are hoping that this change will not change their success in the RMFFL. The Green Bastards are the defending RMFFL Champions and have 4 playoff appearances, 2 Division Titles and 2 MexiCups (2006 & 2008) in their 4 seasons of existence.
