2009 Keepers (UPDATED)

I had this idea about how to declare keepers for 2009 that would help the bad teams. Initially, July 1st was the assigned date for every team to declare their 7 keepers for 2009. What I was thinking was a staggered declaration of keepers going in reverse draft order that would cover 2 weeks of the calendar. On July 1st the 2008 RMFFL Champions, the Green Bastards, will declare who they will be keeping and every other day the next team in line will declare their keepers. I believe that this method will help out the bottom feeders in the RMFFL. The keeper declaration schedule will look like this:

July 1 -- Green Bastards
July 3 -- Donfins
July 5 -- Hawaiian Punch
July 7 -- Brit Favreits
July 9 -- Kelly's Heroes
July 11 -- Team Gonzo
July 13 -- Impact Players
July 15 -- Hirsch's Hitmen

So what does everyone think? By doing it this way all the keepers will be declared by mid-July and that will give every team the chance to formulate their draft plans well in advance of August's RMFFL Draft. UPDATE: After careful consideration and some advice from Kelly's Heroes I have decided to make some changes to the order. By looking at the NFL for inspiration the four playoff teams will stay in the same order. The four Bedpan teams have changed to reflect their regular season record. That way the worst team (Hirsch's Hitmen) will declare last, while the best team (of the non-playoff teams), Kelly's Heroes, will declare first. The list of when teams will declare has been updated to reflect this change.
